Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector Plus (SHOPS Plus) Project

Banyan Global was a subcontractor to Abt Associates on the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) Plus project. This $150 million project focused on improving health outcomes through the private sector by strengthening provision of private-sector health information, products, and services; increasing effective public-private engagement to improve public health outcomes; improving the enabling environment for the private sector within the health system at the global, regional, and country level; and surfacing, disseminating, and applying innovative, emerging, and tested private-sector models. Banyan Global led the access to finance and business strengthening component of the project. We supported health financing and accreditation of private providers, health franchising, non-governmental organization sustainability, and provider networks. Moreover, we helped to improve the human resources for health through the private sector.
